3M™ Cubitron™ II 994F Cloth Tape with a water-resistant ZF-weighted backing can be used both wet and dry. Our tapes feature Precision-Formed Mineral, which offers exceptional cutting and long life compared to conventional abrasives. Unlike traditional abrasives, Precision-Formed Mineral takes the form of a triangular point that cuts through the metal rather than gouging or scraping it. These points continually sharpen themselves as they break, providing an extremely fast cut and less heat build-up. This reduces heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. The abrasive maintains a uniform finish throughout its life and helps eliminate burn-on in end-grain sanding applications. The ZF-weighted cloth backing provides durability, while the resin-bonded mineral provides reliable performance even under high heat and pressure. This tape features an extra-reinforced surface coating that protects heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, nickel alloys and cobalt alloys, helping to reduce operating temperatures.
