Use our durable Scotch-Brite™ Surface Preparation Tape for low-elongation applications such as cleaning, blending, deburring and finishing on all types of metals. Made of resin-reinforced nonwoven fiber, our tapes resist undercutting and gouging as well as load, and are designed for long-lasting use. They feature a coarse-grit aluminum oxide abrasive that cuts fast and maintains superior edge strength throughout the life of the tape. Each of these tapes is suitable for low-elongation applications. We also include a woven fabric (mesh) embedded in the nylon structure for added strength and durability, allowing our surface preparation products to edge, deburr and blend effectively on all types of metals. The nonwoven material, used in conjunction with the abrasive mineral, is ideal for achieving excellent finishes or deburring. Our Scotch-Brite SE Surface Preparation Tapes feature a coarse-grit aluminum oxide abrasive that provides good cutting speed and long life. This mineral is a hard and durable abrasive that breaks spontaneously during use, constantly revealing new sharp edges. In comparison, traditional abrasives such as garnet wear away rapidly with use. Aluminum oxide abrasives cut quickly; their hardness, strength and low heat retention make them suitable for use on many surfaces, as well as for grinding, sanding and finishing. Belt sanders are used for high-speed grinding, sanding and finishing on many surfaces. Sanding wheels and discs can quickly lose their effectiveness due to clogging, depending on the material being processed. Belt sanders, on the other hand, continue sanding without clogging thanks to small grooves opened in the abrasive belt as it passes around the drive wheel.
