Scotch-Brite™ Cutting and Polishing Wheels help remove surface imperfections, rough grind lines, blend out peening marks and machined inconsistencies while leaving a smooth mineral finish. Our cutting and polishing wheels are available in a variety of diameters and widths. They can be used with robotics, wheel sanders, bench motors, belt sanders and centerless grinders. These wheels use aluminum oxide mineral. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose newly formed sharp edges while traditional natural abrasives fill more quickly. It is widely used in grinding, sanding and finishing applications because of its high cutting speed, hardness and strength. Aluminum oxide is suitable for use on a wide variety of materials in both wood and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite abrasives are unique surface preparation products that feature abrasives bonded to a non-woven fiber mold. The combination of abrasives and non-woven material creates an abrasive system that produces consistent results throughout the life of the product. Open web material operates without heating and is load-resistant, limiting the filling of nylon fibers and allowing abrasive minerals to continue cutting at high performance.
